Is Mark Sanchez NY Jets History?

By replacing Mark Sanchez with Greg McElroy in a 7-6 NY Jets win over the lowly Arizona Cardinals at Metlife Stadium, has Rex Ryan ushered in the McElroy era for the Jets? Can Ryan go back to the bruised ego of Sanchez, his "face of the franchise" QB now, after three humiliating performances in losses to Miami and New England and two and a half terrible quarters against Arizona? Should Rex Ryan give McElroy the shot and start him over the underachieving $60 Million Sanchez? Why not? At 5-7 you might as well give the kid a chance and see what he's got for the next four games. You already know what Sanchez has got (or what he doesn't). Let's face it; it's apparent that Mark Sanchez is not the long term answer at quarterback for the New York Jets! Rex Ryan stood by his man and stayed true to Sanchez butt Sanchez squandered his opportunities and disproved himself to the organization and to the fan base. He's D-O-N-E DONE in New York as far as the fans and the media go. Jets brass are forced to go with the kid and see what he's got. It's interesting that Ryan waited to pull Sanchez in a game that Tim Tebow was not suited up for. I think McElroy really is the backup QB for the NY Jets and Tebow is really just a trick play quarterback and special teams or offensive special weapon - a change of pace ploy that never worked out and will be gone next year as fast as you can say "Brett Favre"! THAT WAS EARLIER THIS WEEK ...So now we know that Sanchez will start in Jacksonville and Rex will probably suit up all three QB's for the game. We'll probably never know what McElroy has to offer unless Sanchez screws up (likely) and Tebow is not healthy enough to play. You almost gotta hope that Sanchez screws up as usual just to see McElroy in there. Good luck Mark Sanchez!

Tebowmania For NY Jets

At first I thought the whole Tim Tebow thing with the New York Jets...

... was a big media ploy. But the more I think about it, the more I think that the Jets are serious about using Tebow to run the Wildcat Offense and to backup QB Mark Sanchez. The Jets really have missed having the Wildcat threat of Brad Smith and Leon Washington over the past two seasons. Acquiring the versatile Tim Tebow will obviously solve those losses with his talents running and passing the ball in the option. Jets fans and the New York Media can second guess Rex Ryan and Mike Tannenbaum all they want (and I have been), but how the Tebow thing plays out no one knows until it plays out. Let's wait and see.

Maybe Tebow to the Jets will work out after all!

The key is in Mark Sanchez playing up to his five-year, $58.25 million contract the Jets gave him last month before they signed Tebow. If Sanchez plays half as good as they're paying him then Jets fans won't scream for Tebow to take his place. If he does not play up to high expectations then as soon as he starts to struggle Jets fans will boo and heckle him and Rex Ryan and Offensive Coordinator Tony Sparano will think about replacing him with Father Tebow... and the NY Jets will have another quarterback controversy. But if Sanchez performs well then Tebow can be utilized as planned (or at least as the Jets brass would like us to think as planned) and everyone can be happy in Jets Nation. Either way get ready for Tebowmania to hit New York in a big way since the New York market is ten times bigger than Denver's, where Tim Tebow was the biggest thing since - well - John Elway or Peyton Manning. It's gonna be the biggest thing in New York since... Lin Sanity. Get ready New York, and get ready Mark Sanchez! TebowMania is about to begin!

Jets Clean Up Act With Tebow

The New York Jets' acquisition of Tim Tebow in a trade with the Denver Broncos will certainly make Rex Ryan and the Jets clean up their act - or they will be answering to a higher authority. I'd love to witness the first time Rex Ryan goes into a profanity laced rant to his NY Jets with Father Tebow in attendance. Ryan will have to go to confession!

In a trade which gives the Denver Broncos a fourth and sixth round draft pick from the Jets in exchange for Tebow and a seventh round pick, the Jets, once again, have made a huge splash in the pool which is the NFL. Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum claims that Tim Tebow will be used as the Wildcat quarterback and Mark Sanchez will be the starter; but only time will tell. You just have to think that Father Tebow will push Sanchez for his starting position regardless of what Tannenbaum or Rex Ryan says.

Really the winner in this whole debacle is the Denver Broncos, who walk off into the sunset with Peyton Manning at quarterback! The Jets got yet another quarterback who can't throw the ball! It should be interesting in New York Jets land as usual. Look out New York - here comes Tebow Fever!

Peyton's New Place Denver Broncos

So Peyton Manning has made up his mind and John Elway and the Denver Broncos are the winners of the Manning Sweepstakes. Peyton Manning will take his rifle of an arm - and hopefully fixed neck - to the Rocky Mountains and continue his Hall Of Fame career with the Broncos. It seems as though Tim Tebow's Bronco's time is over; at least as a starter for now.

Manning will sign for $100,000,000 over 5 years. That's allot of zeros when you count 'em. Peyton chose Denver, most likely, because of their great offensive line, up and coming defense, and presence of Hall Of Fame quarterback John Elway in the front office. We'll see what happens with Tim Tebow, who I think will go elsewhere for a chance to play.

The addition of Peyton Manning to the Bronco's roster surely will make Denver, a playoff team last year, a contender for the Super Bowl. If Manning stays healthy he should be able to lead the Denver Broncos deep into the Playoffs the next couple of years. Look out Denver there's a new Hall Of Fame quarterback in town, and Mile High is now Peyton's Place.

NY Knicks and Mike D'Antoni Part Ways

After a roller coaster two months, including a 7-2 run of Jeremy Lin-Sanity in February and the second 6 game losing streak of the season in March, Mike D'Antoni and the New York Knicks have parted ways. Dolan says it was a mutual agreement, but you can't help but think they squeezed him out after an uninspiring run of games in which the Knicks just played poor defense and couldn't keep up with the big boys (Mavericks,Celtics,Bucks,Spurs,Bulls,Sixers) after the return of Carmello Anthony to the Jeremy Lin Sanity crazed Knicks.

After lots of talk of Mello asking to be traded because he was not happy with Mike D'Antoni's offense it turns out that D'Antoni is the one to leave. It makes you wonder how much Carmello Anthony's unhappiness with not being The Man had to do with D'Antoni's exit. Mutual or not.

Assistant Coach Mike Woodson, who in six seasons as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks compiled a 206-286 (.419) record with three consecutive playoff appearances, has been named Head Coach. Woodson has been a NY Knicks assistant since August 2011 and now must win over a stunned locker room of players who had a strong allegiance to Mike D'Antoni. With 24 games left and tied for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference with the Milwaukee Bucks Woodson must find a way to get all of his players on the same page; something D'Antoni struggled with over the last few weeks.
